A Note On The Paper Offerings
What the 55 pieces are for.
The folded paper in this set comes from an East Asian farewell custom. Families gather the things a pet loved in life — a favourite treat, a bowl of milk, a comb — and add paper gifts: folded ingots, paper clothing and a written letter. At the graveside or at a small memorial service the paper is burned, so that the pet takes it along. It is a way of saying: this was yours, keep it.
Nothing here is required, and nothing is permanent. Plenty of families use the treats, the grooming items and the keepsake card, and leave the paper folded in the box as a memento. Others use the set exactly as intended. If you would rather not receive the paper items at all, say so when you order and we will take them out before shipping.
Buying it for someone else? The box arrives fully arranged, with a small card that explains each item in plain English — so nothing has to be explained out loud at a difficult moment.
Good To Know
Common questions.
What exactly is in the box?
Treats (tuna, salmon, wagyu beef and M9 steak), pet milk, biscuits, freeze-dried snacks, grooming items, a full set of traditional paper offerings with folded ingots, a memorial letter, an incense burner and a keepsake card — 55 pieces in total.
Is this a religious set?
It comes from a traditional East Asian farewell custom rather than from a single religion — the paper is a way of sending a pet off with the things it loved. Nothing in the box has to be used, and many families keep only the treats and keepsakes. There is a fuller explanation further up this page.
Can it be shipped as a gift?
Yes. Tell us when you order and we will leave the price out of the parcel and add a gift card.
